I purchased this for my Microbiology class and found it to be easy read and understanding. I have read other Micro books and this by far is the most informative and understandable text for Microbiology which is a tough subject. It is recommended even if just to use as research. I have kept it for just such a purpose to use for backup. Even if you have to use a different text this one should be alongside it to help you understand what the other books don't explain well.
