Customer Reviews (supplied by Amazon.com):
Average Customer Rating: 3.5 out of 5
1) Great book for undergrads [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Took a physio course and this was required. I aced that class by reading this book very carefully. The writing is not terribly dry like some textbooks, although don't expect anything thrilling either! The graphics, I thought, were what really helped me understand the steps and processes. Therefore, if you're truly a graphic learner, I'd recommend this. If I had to make a complaint, it'd be that the author and editors should add more pictures. Also, this is most likely for undergrads/ beginners...not health professional students.2) Vander's text is better [Rating: 2 out of 5]
This book was required in a general physiology course I took because the teacher was the author. I had previously taken a human physiology course which used Vander's text. Vander's illustrations and explanations were much more helpful, especially on the difficult topic of cardiac physiology.3) Best Physiology Book on the Market [Rating: 5 out of 5]
It is clear that Silverthorn wrote this book with the physiology student in mind. It is evident that the purpose of the book is to help teach all that physiology embodies; not simply be a reference for factoids.
