1) Product Description
This top-selling title is now in its Second Edition. An excellent preparatory review for course exams or the USMLE Step 1, the chapters parallel most standard pathology texts plus provide a review test at the end of each chapter. Topics covered include general and basic pathology, major concepts of disease processes, and systemic pathology surveying principal disorders of each organ system. A comprehensive examination at the end of the book contains 500 questions in USMLE format. New features include key associations throughout the text that emphasize "high-yield" information for the USMLE review and a new chapter entitled Interpretation of Diagnosis Tests (laboratory statistics).

Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5
1) essential for medical pathology [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This book is pretty comprehensive and definitely a good buy for second year medical students. A lot of people used this to study for the boards as well, because they had been reading it all year. There are tests after each section, so you can check how much you retained and find out where your weaknesses lie. If you know everything in this book you should probably ace this section on the boards.2) A must for med school and step 1 [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is the bible of pathology for med school and step 1. I would agree with most of the other reviews here, so I will only reiterate that is an essential book for your studies. The only thing that would make this book perfect is to feature color pathology pictures, since that is what is used on the step exams.3) YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK HEAD TO TOE [Rating: 5 out of 5]
THIS IS THE IT BOOK. IF TOU WANT TO PASS PATHOLOGY IN THE STEP 1 YOU NEED THIS BOOK.4) An excellent review book for Step1, and companion for study. [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Pathology is one of the most difficult courses in medical school. My medical school used Robbins Pathologic Basis of Disease as have most for many years. The BRS book I found to be quite helpful for pathology class as I could read chapters before reading the corresponding chapter in Robbins or before going to class and retain a lot more the first time through it.I would definitely use this book to supplement pathology in medical school. Take notes in it and use it as a single resource along with First Aid to study for USMLE. I found that Robbins, Robbins pocket companion, Robbins Review of Pathology, and this BRS Pathology book were a winning combination for medical school pathology. The BRS book, filled with notes on relevant details not covered + First Aid was a winning combination for USMLE Step 1.5) fair [Rating: 3 out of 5]
Use it at the beginning of your prep; otherwise Goljan and kaplan are better.
