1) Product Description
The outrageous comedy/reality series stars British chameleon Sacha Baron Cohen, who travels across America in the guise of one of three totally different characters. Cohen's primary alter-ego is Ali G., who calls himself a "hip-hop journalist", but who's really a white rapper-wannabe. When Cohen isn't putting Ali G and his "guests" in unusual and often delightfully uncomfortable situations, he's shedding his yellow gangsta track suit attire and slipping into two other memorable characters: Borat, an impossibly naive TV reporter from Kazakhstan, and Bruno, a gay, Austrian fashionista. Each of these characters will be traversing America, exploring different aspects of our culture, and interviewing real celebrities and dignitaries.Episodes:1 - 1. Law (audio commentary)2. "Keep it real" says Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen) at the top of each show. Keeping it real is what the British comedian does--and doesn't do--during each episode. First, there's the character of Ali G himself. There's nothing real about this slang-slinging geezer. He's a poser, a white hip-hop wannabe from the 'burbs who aspires to be "gangsta" like Biggie and Tupac. His interview subjects, on the other hand, are the real deal: Newt Gingrich, Buzz Aldrin, Donald Trump, etc. Ali asks stupid questions, they attempt to provide intelligent answers. The humor comes from the disconnect between the two, which is to say: 60 Minutes meets In Living Color. Da Ali G Show was a hit in Britain before Cohen brought his act to the States, but Ali wasn't the only character who came with him. There's also Borat, a Kazakhstan TV reporter with a shaky command of English. His show-within-a-show is called "Borat's Guide to America" and he travels the "US and A" interviewing regular folks, such as matchmakers and rodeo riders. Then there's Bruno, a sexually ambiguous fashion reporter with "Funkyzeit Mit Bruno." His subjects include models and designers. Borat and Bruno have their moments, but Ali G is the star of the show and gets the most screen time. It's Ali G, after all, who gets both James Lipton and Ralph Nader to rap. (The verdict? Lipton's got skills; Nader should stick to politics.) As proof of his popularity in the U.K., Ali G got his own theatrical release, Ali G Indahouse in 2002. As proof of his popularity in the U.S., HBO renewed his show for a second season. Due to sexual content, raunchy humor, and drug content, Da Ali G Show is recommended for mature audiences. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

1) great stuff   [Rating: 5 out of 5]

2) A Reality Show at it's Finest   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Da Ali G show is a comedy reality show that originally aired on HBO.Sacha Cohen plays the role of 3 very different characters and shocks the public. Theres Ali G - a unintelligent gangster who interviews many politicians and rights activists. There's Bruno, a gay man who interviews many straight people who have no idea what show they are on, and there's Borat, who is a foreigner new to the US. Many people are probably familiar with Borat, who had his own movie that was insanely popular. If you like Borat you'll probably love Da Ali G show. This season only has 6 episodes but each one is incredibly hilarious. It is amazing what people will believe, especially when talking about the Ali G character. If you are interested in a vulgar comedy show that puts people in difficult and embarrassing situations, check out Da Ali G Show, Season 1.

3) Diz Be Funne but Simpel: Da Ali G Show   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Da compleet first seazon of Sacha Baron Cohen's the Ali G show is hilarious at times, if mostly for the caustically funny, oblivious reactions he elicits from the prestigious and famous. Though the humor is well intentioned from a liberal English Jew, the parodist anti-Semitism, misogyny, and bigotry is unclear in its vague social messages; stereotypes drawn just for the sake of humor hold a power in manipulating the less analytic of views. Cohen is rude, offensive, and harmful to his targets but refreshingly crude nonetheless to his audience

4) Caustic Humor   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
A very good comedy, Da Ali G Show-The Complete First Season, a.k.a. Ali G in Da USAiii, brings to the screen three different characters played by Sacha Baron Cohen: the British rapper Ali G, the Kazakh sex-starved journalist Borat, and the Austrian homosexual Bruno. Sacha Baron Cohen takes the country by storm when he hits the American shores and starts picking on as many different groups as possible; from politicians, astronauts and religious figures to feminists, fashion designers and anti-war protesters. The key to success is the indiscriminate use of caustic humor against all. Very well written and very well presented, Da Ali G Show allows for a highly entertaining movie that can be watched over and over again! The setting, the plot, the dialogues, the humor, and the music are all wonderful!Strongly recommended along with Ali G Indahouse.

5) Check yourself befor you wreck yourself booyakasha!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Da Ali G is very funny as long as you are not politically correct or so freakin sensative that you can't take a joke. The different characters he portrays and the interviews he does are hilarious. I am most likely going to purchase the 2nd season soon!
