Editorial Reviews (supplied by Amazon.com):

1) Amazon.com
This is one of those movies that works for all the wrong reasons--disgusting, lowbrow, base humor that we are all far too sophisticated to find amusing. So, just don't tell anyone you still think it's a riot to watch John Belushi as the brutish Bluto slurp Jell-O or terrorize his less-aggressive fellow students. This crude parody of college life in the '60s spawned many imitations, but none could match the fresh-faced talent or bad taste of this huge box office success. (Remember all those toga parties in the '80s?) The first of the National Lampoon movies, this was originally released as National Lampoon's Animal House. Keep an eye out for a very young Kevin Bacon in his first credited screen appearance. --Rochelle O'Gorman

Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5

1) Wild with Traditional 70's-style Humor   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is a classic that no one can afford to miss out on. It's for all generations as long as the viewer is old enough for an "R" film.See Belushi at his best. The film has well known actors and those who play good support roles. It's a superb film for Tim Matheson. He's got a great role as do others who fit in excellently with the dialogue and scenes. You'll be rolling on your couch, even if you've got a son considering joining a frat.

2) Animal House   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
The comedy of a generation takes place at Faber College during the Kennedy era. Delta House is the worst fraternity on campus. Its members are known for sex, drinking and bad grades. The assortment of misfits is recognizable. John Belushi is the class clown: "7 years of college down the drain!" Otter is the ladies' man who beds the dean's wife. Neidermeyer is the gung ho ROTC officer: "Drop and give me 20!" Boone and Katy are the incompatible couple. Donald Sutherland is the English teacher having an affair with Katy. Dean Wormer's attempt to crack down on Delta is in vain. They simply go on a road trip or have a toga party. Even the statue of the college founder is funny: "Knowledge is good."

3) All time comedy classic   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Is there anything else to say about this movie that you already don't know? Practically everyone's top pick for comedys.

4) College Orientation   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Classic American film. Wacky humor of a much more sophisticated level than most current 'college-films', i.e. American Pie etc. Perhaps it's a generational thing but film humor,of this genre, has become debased into vulgar, locker room street language. Current film makers should study this Classic before scripting any more vulgar, vile attempts at filmic humor aimed at the unsophisticated American youth of today.

5) So funny, I almost fell out of the chair   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is not the theater version and most definitely not the TV version. This is the uncut version the way the writers orginally intended. It probably will offend some people and is not for young children, but so funny I almost fell out of the chair many times.
