1) Product Description
They're back. And then some. Twelve is the new eleven when Danny Ocean and pals return in a sequel to the cool caper that saw them pull off a $160 million heist. But 160 million doesn't go as far as it used to. Not with everyone spending like sailors on leave. Not with a mysterious someone stalking Danny and crew. It's time to pull off another stunner of a plan?or plans. With locations including Amsterdam Paris and Rome the direction of Steven Soderbergh and the original cast plus Catherine Zeta-Jones and others Twelve is your lucky number.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: COMEDY UPC: 085393894825 Manufacturer No: 38948

Like its predecessor Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve is a piffle of a caper, a preposterous plot given juice and vitality by a combination of movie star glamour and the exuberant filmmaking skill of director Steven Soderbergh (Out of Sight, The Limey). The heist hijinks of the first film come to roost for a team of eleven thieves (including the glossy mugs of Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Bernie Mac, and Don Cheadle), who find themselves pursued not only by the guy they robbed (silky Andy Garcia), but also by a top-notch detective (plush Catherine Zeta-Jones) and a jealous master thief (well-oiled Vincent Cassel) who wants to prove that team leader Danny Ocean (dapper George Clooney) isn't the best in the field. As if all that star power weren't enough--and the eternally coltish Julia Roberts also returns as Ocean's wife--one movie star cameo raises the movie's combined wattage to absurd proportions. But all these handsome faces are matched by Soderbergh's visual flash, cunning editing, and excellent use of Amsterdam, Paris, and Rome, among other highly decorative locations. The whole affair should collapse under the weight of its own silliness, but somehow it doesn't--the movie's raffish spirit and offhand wit soar along, providing lightweight but undeniable entertainment. --Bret Fetzer

Average Customer Rating: 2.5 out of 5

1) the one I watch the most   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Am I the only one who, when compelled to reach for an Ocean's flick, goes for 12 more than the others? I think it's because 12 is the least straight forward. Perhaps the base audience for Ocean's like their caper flicks straight forward. I don't know. For me, it sets itself up for repeat viewings, to try to figure it out knowing how it turns out. I would say the first 3/4s holds my attention better than any other part of the series (except that verbal restaurant duel between Tess and Danny in 11). I love the Isabelle character and that dynamic. On the downside, the big Julia Roberts payoff left me ho hum. It was a little too kitchy for my blood. I also can't fathom why Bernie Mac, with all his talent and charisma, would be so callously shuffled aside.Flawed as it is, I still stand by it as the one I watch the most.

2) Awesome movie   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
A great movie and a great sequel to Ocean's Eleven. Pay attention because it can get confusing but a great plot if you pay attention. Matt Damon Brad Pitt and George Clooney along with Julia Roberts make for a great acting team

3) Do You BELIEVE How Cool We Are?   [Rating: 3 out of 5]
On the level of plot, the movie is mostly blurred. On the level of style, the film is way too slick to ever create any kind of real dramatic reality or momentum. This movie might have worked If it had put more effort into clarifying its complex plot, and if Clooney and Pitt had not both disappeared in a cloud of their own coolness. They are both so laid back & cool & suave that they become like Lewis Carroll's Cheshire Cat--all grin and no substance. It's a movie about tempo, style & cool; it's not a movie with a story that arouses interest.

4) Stay away, stay very far away   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
Holy crap. This is the most contrived, conceited attempt at a movie I've ever seen. I couldn't WAIT to see this, because I loved Ocean's 11 so much. Spoiler alert: Julia Robert's character gets into the high-falootin museum because she looks like ... Juila Robers. No, I'm not making this up, the character played by Julia Roberts is recognized in the movie as a Julia Roberts look alike. I assume this is supposed to somehow be clever, but it hits you in the wall like a sledgehammer of stupid. Completely destroys the willing suspension of disbelief, and makes you realize that the real theives in this caper are the writer and director, and the real victim is YOUR wallet. On top of this, they actually think it's reasonable that a Fabrege egg, one of the most valuable things on the planet, is transported by some kid in a backpack - because no one would EVER think they'd transport it that way! How CLEVER! Of course, the idiocy of the script is that, indeed, the egg is transported in this zero-security fashion, and -- oh golly, guess what -- it is stolen. So dumb I want to sue anyone to get my 90 minutes back. I didn't think it was possible to mess up a movie with this cast, but I was wrong.

5) A real 'sleeper' of a film   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
The hard truth is "Twelve" put me to sleep a couple of times. I repeated the scenes I'd missed and wondered why I bothered afterward. The best part(s) of this film were Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts. The Julia Roberts' mistaken identity scene was what earned this film a second star. I actually watched that one portion of the film twice and laughed both times. I'd strongly suggest you rent this movie before you consider buying it. If you like "Ocean's Twelve" there may be really good deals available for purchase.
