1) Old School Memories [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I love this show! It reminds me of all the happy memories when I was growing up. I bought this for my sister and she loves it as well. Great buy!2) Best show ever! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Awesome show! A must have for any Saved by the Bell fan!! I used to watch this show all the time when it was on after school where I lived. My brother and I were obsessed with this show and it is just an awesome show!! Great lines, great episodes, great characters, great show!!3) Where's Freddy when you need him? [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Things start to get a little, well, silly beginning with season 3. Now this is certainly not a show where there is to be an assumed realism, but this season takes a silly children/teen's show and turns it into a complete charade. For one thing, the Bayside kids are getting older. The cast does not look like teenagers, they look like young adults in their early twenties! It's kind of hilarious to see Mr. Belding yelling a Zach Morris that is taller than he is! Speaking of Belding, in one episode his wife kicks him out so he stays in Zach's room! The complete absurdity is hilarious. Can you imagine your principal having to stay with you and live in your room, chilling out with your friends and eating pizza? Comic absurdity continues when Zach has to get medical attention for his knee. How does he incur this injury? He WALKS INTO Belding and falls down. Just when you thought things couldn't get more ridiculous Zach tries to escape the hospital dressed as a doctor because he is afraid he won't live through the KNEE SURGERY. Just when you thought the writers couldn't get any more preposterous they prove you wrong. Oh boy do they prove you wrong. In another episode, that season, the star player in their vollyball team can't play because he sustains a very similar injury by Screech knocking him down!!! Same ridiculous plot. Used twice. Same Season. Why five stars then? Because it's hilarious! When you see Zach fall down for no reason and claiming he's hurt his knee, you will laugh your head off. I wept real tears from laughing so hard at Zach on his 'Death-bed.' "What if I don't make it Screech?" And if you don't laugh when you see Belding partying with Zach then you might not have a sense of humor. There are some serious drawbacks to these two seasons though. The episodes go back and forth between the school and the summer episodes in complete anachronistic inaccuracy. The summer episodes aren't half as funny and can sometimes be annoying. Zach's new love interest is loud, pushy, and has the same voice as 'the Nanny.' Zach's boss, unlike the kind and humorous Belding, is loud and always angry. My final question is why didn't Freddy Kruger from Elm Street ever attack Bayside high? Wouldn't you love to see him tormenting Screech, going head-to-head with A.C. Slater, putting know-it-all Jessie in her place, and ultimately being defeated by Zach in the stunning climax?4) The best in the series [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Having watched this show as a child I decided to buy the whole set of DVDs in order to relive my youth! They are all totally great but this second volume in the series is my favourite. It's where the characters are starting to become more developed and more ambitious issues start to be tackled, albeit in a rather comedic way! There are lots of incosistencies from episode to episode but this show doesn't take itself too seriously so it hardly matters. The characters are all really likeable even though the late 80s/early 90s fashions and hilariously bad acting are sometimes cringeworthy! It's a great dose of nostalgia and I absolutely loved watching it!5) Saved by the Bell ROCKS! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
My daughter, who is 8, loves this show. I watched it in the 80-90's and it is a safe and entertaining show.
