Call it Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The College Years or Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Boys, but the horror series Supernatural delivers some of the most satisfying small-screen scares in recent memory. The premise is deceptively simple: brothers Sam and Dean (Jared Padalecki from Gilmore Girls and Jensen Ackles, both appealing) travel the darker corners of the American landscape in search of their father, who's gone missing while hunting the malevolent forces that lead to the death of their mother. In the course of their search, the siblings encounter a host of otherworldly creatures, including vampires, ghosts, and witches, as well as such distinctly American phenomena as the urban-legend favorite the Hook ("Hookman"), monsters from Native American mythology ("Wendigo"), and fearful figures from children's games ("Bloody Mary"). Supernatural's integration of elements from American pop culture and folklore, combined with its skilled cast and crew (creator/co-writer Erik Kripke delivered 2005's Boogeyman, while director/executive producer David Nutter is a veteran of The X-Files and Millennium), and better-than-average attempts at atmosphere and suspense place the series well above the other spookshow programs that arrived on networks at about the same time (Invasion, Night Stalker), and should hold considerable appeal for fans of frightful fare. The six-disc set contains all 22 episodes of the debut season, with commentary by Ackles and Padalecki on "Phantom Traveler" and Nutter, Kripke, and producer Peter Johnson on the pilot episode; two making-of documentaries (one on the show itself, and the other on its stars), as well as a brace of unaired scenes and a gag reel round out the set. For those with DVD-ROM capabilities, the set also includes a link to a web site which offers a sneak preview at season 2 and the pilot script, among other bonus features. --Paul Gaita2) Description

1) Worth My Money, Is It Worth Yours? [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I'll be the first to admit I was drawn in by the cute faces of the main characters. But this show is a lot more. There's something in it for everyone, including the complex Chinese subtitles that come with the DVDs, allowing even my skeptic of a non-English speaking father and mother to watch with me. Don't read Chinese? Well I don't either! The plot is subtle, at times episodic but if you've watched your horror films (but don't worry, this show's not like that, and take it from a person who doesn't watch graphic horror anymore) then you'll recognize the references made all throughout this show. From great classics of mullet rock in its soundtrack to witty one-liners to awesome action to a story you'll really get into, Supernatural's worth it (like Loreal). Take the time to watch an episode or two for free if you're skeptical. Thursdays on the CW.2) exciting and addicting! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Supernatural is a show that has even the biggest skeptics sitting on the edge of their seats in suspense. As a skeptic myself at first i only expected a half-decent 2 star season only watched to kill time. Especially with all the cheesy sci-fi shows out there, needless to say i was hesitant to buy...... boy was i wrong.Whoever decided upon two brothers partaking in the long road trip that is their life is a smart man. I must also give Eric Kripke props for his immaculate work over the years. He doesn't just film whatever makes him the most money. Although the people love this show, its NOT because he makes it fit their interests. He takes urban legends ands only presents the truth so to speak. He doesn't change them up and make it a "hollywood" version. He simply portrays the supernatural as best as possible and leaves further interpretation up to the individual. This is why so many lives are touched by this show.It helps you make up your mind what you believe- or Dont believe. Alot of the stuff is so close to christianity's beliefs it leaves one speechless. At first one says "Well its only sci-fi" but it doesn't take a genius to figure out some of the stuff goes on today.I can't say enough about the plot in this series exept to say that it is incredible and only gets better and better. Great job writers! The acting is so real we forget everything and feel as if we are right there. It portrays family values and how far they will go to protect their family AND everybody else.Don't get me wrong- morality is not lost in this series. It will leave your mind thinking and your heart touched.I promise once you watch it- you'll be coming back for more and more!I recommend buying season 1 and season 2 of SUPERNATURAL.3) supernatural season 1 [Rating: 5 out of 5]
supernatural is one of the best shows ever if you like horror and creepy stuff. lots of urban legends and ghost stories. jared padalecki and jensen ackles are awesome as the winchester brothers. just a very enjoyable series. i will definately get season 2 and then 3 when it tis out!!!!!!4) Completely Addictive [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Someone told me I would like this series and it sounded intriguing so I started watching it. I had no idea how obsessed I would become! I had to buy the whole season so I can rewatch it again and again, which is something I don't usually do. The style of the show with its retro car, classic rock soundtrack and beautiful boys is sleek and pretty. The dialogue is quick and clever with lots of sarcastic humor thrown in. The stories are good, also, and if you are not totally jaded by horror movies, they're really creepy and scary.5) Surely You'll LOVE this Series as I do! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
The more I watch this Series, the more I'm addicted to it. You've already read commentaries...hopefully you'll all purchase Seasons 1 & 2 of this Series so Season 3 (& Season 4) will be Released soon. I've almost finished Season 2 and I'm anxious to see MORE of this GREAT Series.Though I have purchased a number of Series, I always seem to watch these (Supernatural) nightly.
