1) Product Description
Romance. Passion. Emotion. These words are synonymous with the voice of Andrea Bocelli. Almost ten years ago he exploded onto the international music scene with Romanza, and has since sold nearly 50 million albums worldwide. Amore--released amongst the glamor of the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy (where he will perform at the closing ceremony) and the romance of Valentine's Day--finds Bocelli straying from the carefully groomed classical ground in which he is most familiar. The concept of the album came from famed producer and longtime Bocelli fan David Foster along with co-producers Humberto Gatica and Tony Renis, who posed the question: Why not take the most beautiful love songs in the world and pair them with the most romantic voice in the world? The result is a beautiful album of pop standards that Foster has publicly claimed is "one of the most beautiful records I have ever been part of." Embarking on a new era, Amore unveils a fresh sensuous sound that gently moves Bocelli into new territory. Spanish guitars flourish, traditional Latin percussion seductively keeps the tempo, accordions and harmonicas provide charming melodies, while sometimes Bocelli shares the spotlight with just a grand piano. Recorded late in the summer at Bocelli's Tuscan home studio overlooking the coast, the album exudes the natural beauty and breathtaking surroundings evident in Italy. Amore marks the only album David Foster has made outside of his Californian studio complex in two decades. This was also most musically gratifying for Bocelli: "I've been presented with opportunities I once could only dream of, challenges I longed to confront and experiences I will cherish forever, but while recording this album I realized that now is the perfect moment to arrive at an album of this repertoire, with the perfect producers, the perfect musicians and the perfect selection of songs." 3) Enchanting, addictive, overwhelming, talented man.   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Andrea Bocelli-AmoreAny CD or DVD chosen would have the same wonderful review. I am thrilled that I found this amazing entertainer/singer just by chance watching "Good Morning America" a while ago. He makes me happy just to listen to him, so when I have one of my not so cheerful days, I always turn to him to cheer me up. I could listen to him all day. He is just amazing. Not only his voice, but the way that he sings and presents himself is awesome. I actually thank God for giving him to me to keep me company when I am lonely or just to be entertained. God bless him for making so many people so happy!!

4) Soulful and calm   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Love his music, especially when driving-keeps you calm and less likelyto stress in traffic. Beautiful voice!!!

5) If you're lucky in love   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I can't get enough of this CD by Andrea Bocelli. His opera work was familiar to me but this collection of romantic popular songs was a truly welcome present. Spanish, Italian, French and English tunes create a mellow atmosphere, with great accompaniment and some interesting vocal pairings. Each of the fourteen tracks brings its own rewards but a few stand out for me. "Besame Mucho," the best version I ever heard of this romantic classic, is passionate and moody. "Mi Manchi (I Miss You)" pairs Bocelli with the incomparable Kenny G; the sentimental sound of the song matches the poignant lyrics so do check out a translation (unfortunately not included in the insert -- the only thing I'd change). The fifth track is the unexpectedly lush "Somos Novios (It's Impossible)" in which former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera joins Bocelli for a dreamy little duet. A couple of tracks further along Mario Reyes lends a sizzling flamenco guitar accompaniment to "Jurame (Promise Me).""Canzoni Stonate (Songs out of Tune)" is another duet, this time with Stevie Wonder. It's a good thing this one is in Italian, since the English translation tells a dodgy story -- but the sound is very appealing. We have more great guitar accompaniment in "L'Appuntamento;" and the CD makes a strong finish with English and Italian versions of the inspirational "Because We Believe." These and the other seven tracks on "Amore" add up to a romantic feast. I'm very impressed with Andrea Bocelli's versatility and with the production of this CD. "Amore" was released for Valentine's Day 2006, and it will stand the test of many Valentine's Days to come. If you are lucky in love, you'll want to cuddle up next to your special someone and enjoy this dreamy music.Linda Bulger, 2008
