1) qreat live version   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is a great live cd. It has all of John Mayer's older songs that got you liking him in the first place. Sometimes his live singing skills are a bit flat, but what the heck, it's still a great cd.

2) Great CD with great live sounds   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Mayer is no studio voice, and on his live Any Given Thurday from Atlanta we get to hear new songs, and old ones performed in a new way. He's truly in love with his music, and you can hear it in the variations from his CD. He sings a sculpted version of old faves, like your body is a wonderland. He also has a previously unreleased song called "Covered in the Rain" that has some of the most beautiful guitar I've ever heard. His 83 start off with a Cyndi Lauper cover, and is ultra creative. it's unpredicatable, which makes the crowd go wild. There is also a Sting cover of Message in a bottle, and a beautiful song called Comfortable. It's a new listening experience that Mayer fans will revel in.

3) any given day   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
this is a great cd, John Mayer is musician way beyond his years.

4) Great CD   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
i have had these cds for awhile now and i still love them. Some hightlights from both cds would have to be lenny/man on the side and message in a bottle from disc one and covered in rain and comfortable from disc two. All the other songs are amazing as well and i would recommend this cd to any john mayer fan or any music fan!

5) This Album has Given me so much Joy   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I'm a big John Mayer fan; I'll admit that from the get-go. Now, I heard "No Such Thing," and "Your Body is a Wonderland" when it first came out like everybody else and I liked it, but didn't make too much fuss about it. Then, "Heavier Things" was released, and so were the classic singles, "Bigger than My Body," and "Daughters" (not officially considered classics in our time, but give it ten years and it will surely reach that status). I got into Mayer after his "Heavier Things" album, and then slowly bought everything else he's ever recorded. I now have it all, and this is his best!Unlike most acts, Mayer opens with a ballad, "3X5", and gives his loving, hooting fans a warm 'hello' and 'thanks'. Then the album really takes off with "No Such Thing," and "Back to You" (one of the best performances of the night). He demonstrates his guitar proficiency by covering Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Lenny" and then breaks off into the heartwrenching and personal "Man By Your Side," about the pain and heartache of yearning for a woman you can't have, an experience that all men have gone through at one point or another. He does a wonderful cover of "Message in a Bottle," and then starts off CD2 with a funked-up intro that breaks into "Why Georgia?", probably the most intense, happening song on the album. The live energy is so near, you feel like you were there. I always wonder how awesome it'd be to actually have seen this show live. The rest of the album goes on to deliver more of the joy, more of the pure, clean adolescent pop/rock that was John Mayer at this time... And, let me remind you- this is John Mayer at his prime. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy his new stuff and I don't appreciate the changes he's made. I do... all except changing DeLa for Pino, but I'll get into that.David Labuyere's bass playing is some of the best I've ever heard... really astounding. "Room for Squares" is so exciting to listen to, "Heavier Things" is fantastic, and this live performance, amazing; I mean, he and Mayer mesh so well. So why has John Mayer changed him for Pino Pallidino? I've heard Pino play on "Try" and "Continuum" and he adds nothing interesting to Mayer's music. The bass lines add no dimension and his tone flat-out sucks. Labuyere put another dimension to his sound, his bass-playing has great slides and fills. His style is original and signature. His tone is so cool. Pino does nothing close to De-La. De-La's sound is so fresh, so exciting... he contributes so much to Mayer's awesome melodies. So, let it be known, I am really disappointed with John Mayer replacing De-La for Palladino, and listening to this album is a testament to what Mayer has lost now that that he is no longer on his records. If you aren't a Mayer fan, I guarantee this album will make you into one. It is one of my most cherised albums. (If you're into playing acoustic guitar, you definitely want this cause Mayer's music will improve your playing immensely.) I've listened to it countless times and I totally agree with every reviewer who wrote that this is their album of choice when they're feeling down. "Any Given Thursday" has given me so much joy and will continue to do so "any day of the week."
