1) Brother Brings it All [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I don't think it's an overstatement to say that, given the right exposure, this album would an instant classic. It is quite rare to stumble across something this good that is not in some sort of spotlight. Dave's voice, while easy and familiar, is no less great and memorable, and it breathes abundant life into these inspired and beautiful compositions. And the fact that the music defies easy categorization (is it folk, R&B, country, Christian, pop?), makes it no less genuine and true. For those who care to discover it, this is one for the ages.
2) Marvelous [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I don't know where this guy's been hiding all these years, or why he's not a major star in his own right, but this is one of the best discoveries I've made in recent years. Highly recommended to anyone who appreciates good, honest singing and songwriting.
3) My favorite CD [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I love, Love, LOVE this CD! David Barnes is an amazing artist. I can listen to this CD over and over again. His voice is amazing and his lyrics are so heartfelt. Not often does music come that is this great. Everyone should have this CD in their collection.
4) Brother, Bring the Sun [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This Christian album was wonderful. Our daughter, at her wedding on June 23rd., chose Track 7, as the music for the Bride/ Groom dance. The song will always be a memorable favorite of mine as "God's love will never change, " & what an example His love is for how we are all to love. Thank you, Dave Barnes, for this beautiful & meaningful album.
5) Can't stop moving... [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Since I got my cd over the weekend I have not stoped boppin around the house. There is something about Dave Barnes soulful sound that begs you to tap your foot and bob your head. Might I also recommend his newest cd, Chasing Mississippi - as this cd will too get you moving. Enjoy!
