1) Amazon.com
The perfect timing of Beyonce Knowles' career moves continues with the release of her debut solo album. Dangerously in Love's best music is wildly up-to-date, craftily designed for both maximum street acceptance and positioning as some of the most cutting-edge stuff on current radio. The brash first single, "Crazy in Love," melds Jay-Z with an unstoppable Chi-Lites horn sample, shape-shifting into something brand new. Collaborations with Outkast's Big Boi and Sean Paul also prick up the ears, while changes of pace like "Be with You" and "Speechless" achieve their aim with credibility. The disc becomes far too ballad heavy in its second half, but the key stuff is the noise she brings. --Rickey Wright

1) BEAUTIFUL ALBUM!!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This CD beyonce honey i love it,there is a song in here called speechless that song an how it uses the saxaphone im teling you, baby making music she kinda goes back to the old school love jams type music i love it an then her fast songs are crazy around the time this came out there were no other beats an hooks things like this out at that time, i dont see how you could give this a rating lower than a 4 i gave it a 5 because i truely believe she did her thang in this album i was kinda tired of the dangerously in love some people tend to say she over sings that but other than that beautiful album

2) Dangerously Lame   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
Dangerously in Love is a terrible terrible album, within an exeption of a few songs.Beyonce can sing, but what good is her voice when all she's goona do is sing [...] like this.[...], because the singles you release are HOT!, but when you listen to the album, it just turns out to be lame [...]. Signs and Speechless have to be some of the most annoying songs i've ever heard, Sorry B. but you are a great performer, your voice is beautiful, but your material is WEAK AND LAME

3) Very underrated IMO...   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Crazy In Love is hot, as is Naughty Girl, Baby Boy, Signs is great, Speechless is one of the best modern contemporary ballads I've ever heard, Dangerously In Love 2 is better than the original, grew on me and is the second best track here, Gift From Virgo is one of the most insightful yet heartfelt interludes I've ever heard and Daddy and Yes are fantastic. Especially the former.Yes is great though because it's a kiss off and I LOVE kiss-offs, especially by females. Ne-Yo did one too, on his current album, Because Of You named Go On Girl and is easily one of the highlights of the CD and made a great closer. To me, this is one of the greatest albums that blends R&B and Pop songs alike. Similar in vein to Brandy's Never Say Never and Tracie Spencer's Tracie album. But Tracie couldn't do it as well.Favorites in order: Daddy, Dangerously In Love 2, Gift From Virgo, Baby Boi, The Closer I Get To You & Signs. No filler whatsoever although Hip Hop Star is somewhat of a head scratcher that grew on me lots.69.75/15 = 4.65 4.65 stars.

4) Not a prime candidate for a spot in the R&B Hall Of Fame, but at least she beats the crap out of Ashanti   [Rating: 3 out of 5]
For me, giving a good review to anything that's less than 10 years old can be difficult, because I do believe that today's popular music has already dug itself into an impossibly deep hole that it will never get out of, and while this album will not change that, it is nonetheless a fairly respectable album from a decent if not extraordinary entertainer. The hits "Me, Myself & I", "Baby Boy" and "Crazy In Love" were fun and catchy tunes that can be enjoyable nowadays since their days of being played out have subsided. Of course, the appeal of these songs and the album is diminished somewhat by the fact that some of them are sample-based, but overall, this album was definitely better than some of its directly competing counterparts at the time.

5) DAM GOOD!!!! .....No matter what , some of the other reviewers have to say!!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
If you only like her up beat songs like crazy in love, you do not appreciate her as an artist!. On this cd for me 10/15 tracks are good example, Yes... some people would not think mush of as it is not great song writing but sometimes simple things can work!. I think that is one of the reasons R&B is in the bad state it is in today, as all these record company's want from their artist is to write songs about the same old topics because they think that is what will sell and they brain wash the world into thinking like them,(starting with the teens as these topics are more or less new to them and they forget that people gow up and by the time they get to their late 20't 30't they are fed up of these same topics, especially if they are into the old R&B also) so that is all most people want and other more creative songs, will never be considered to be released as singles, keeping today's R&B down in the rubbish bin. One other example of this (a little better song writing on this one) is Signs, different! new! a great song!( I know of Tyrese's signs, good also). The other tracks most people know... Be With You, Me Myself And I, Baby Boy, Naughty Girl, Dangerously In Love and Work It Out, more or less in order of quality, bonnie and Clyde with JayZ are all good songs, making this cd a must have.
