He's been shot nine times. Incarcerated. And stabbed up and down. And that's only what's happened on 50 Cent's down time. Hands down, 50 Cent is the biggest buzz emcee since Eminem (who just happens to be his label CEO), and Get Rich also features Dr. Dre on production, so it's a can't-miss record, right? Well, mostly. Get Rich is not filled with midtempo, radio-friendly numbers like "Wanksta," his thinly veiled Ja Rule dis first heard on the 8 Mile soundtrack. Instead, Cent brings the heat, not heater. He sheds his inner thug on "21 Questions," featuring G-funk crooner Nate Dogg showing some semblance of respect to the hotties, and then reverts right back to his thug persona on "In da Club," where he boasts "I'm into having sex, I ain't into making love." There's no "How to Rob, Pt. 2" here, although "Many Men" comes close, as he addresses some of the haters who may not fully get why he's now rap's big cheese. Surprisingly, the two Eminem-produced joints--"Patiently Waiting" (which thematically is very much like Em's "Lose Yourself"), and "Don't Push Me"--almost rival the beats supplied by Dre. Then again, it seems his most well-known cuts ("High All the Time" and "Wanksta," for example) are actually some of the weakest of the lot. Sure, Get Rich could never have lived up to the hype, it's nowhere near Biggie's Ready to Die or Nas's Illmatic, but there's no fast-forward material here, a near miracle in these times. --Dalton Higgins2) Album Description

1) Great start! [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Can't say i'm a 50 fan. This was a nice start up album, I remember bumping this everday after school when it first came out. His style was unique at the time and production was flawless.Sadly, he's sold out....quite a bit. I wouldn't even consider buying a new album of his.Yet back in the day...this was the album. I wouldn't say classic, but I'd say definately an enjoyable and fun CD to own. Hits like "In Da Club", "21 Questions", "Many Men", and "P.I.M.P." bring back great memories. Eminem's verse on "Patiently Waiting" will never be forgotten as well. Yet I'd have to say my fave song is the blood-thirsty "Heat", such a creative idea for a beat. Total gangsta.Great, but he could never earn my respect again like he did here.2) tha whole album is hot [Rating: 5 out of 5]

50 Cent came into the game strong as most rappers did and slacked off as his carrer went on. Examples: Eminem, NaS, DMX, Mobb Deep etc. this was a true work of art, nobody should give this album less than 4 stars if the reson is because you dislike 50 cent. 50 did his thang over the best production possible. this album is from top to bottom a true classic. 50 will never be able to make another get rich or die tryin' just like NaS will never make another Illmatic, but that doesen't mean their future albums won't be good. it makes me angry to see people rate a masterpice like this 1 star cause they support Game.over all review of the album song by song: 1. As much as I f***in hate 50 , I actually liked this CD a lot, as a matter a fact this was probably the only rap CD I was listening too back in 03' its pretty sad but that was then and this is now. The CD was actually very balanced, there were songs about violence, drugs, woman, and his life, its actually a well balanced album. 50's rhymes were definetly a lot better back than, he had very good rhymes that were fresh and catchy. Get Rich or Die Tryin was actually a milestone in Hip-Hop because no other rapper ever sold so well with a debut album even the greats like Nas & 2Pac never sold over 5 million with their debut album. But the reason behind this was because of all the hype behind the album, being that 50 Cent had help from super producer/mentor Dr. Dre & also mentor Eminem who helped also. 50 was signed too major labels - Aftermath/Shady/Interscope and also his own G-Unit. This was the commercial album of the year pretty much. I guess you could of called 50 an MC back then, sadly he was Hip-Hop in 2003, this was the guy that everybody was talkin' bout.1)Intro - a coin flipping for 5 seconds and a gun cocking for 32)What Up Gangsta - a good start off track, brings a certain energy that sets off the album very well. 5/53)Patiently Waiting feat. Eminem - a very strong feat. 50's favorite white boy Eminem, his rhyme's are pretty good using words he should be using when he rhymes. Eminem steals the track with his bars "Don't let me lose you, I'm not tryin to confuse youWhen I let loose wit this Uzi and just shoot through your Isuzu" funny and catchy. 5/54)Many Men (Wish Death) - a personal track pretty much reminicing the time when he got shot at 9 times, it's a cool track putting a real emotion to the song. 5/55)In Da Club - a Dre production so strong that it defines 50's career, the very first song that 50 ever proclaimed a spot on the charts, doin #1 all over the world. 5/56)High All The Time - an okay, a song thats self-explanatory, a whole song about weed its pretty catchy. 3.5/57)Heat - now that he did a whole song about weed, he does a whole song about guns, the Dr. Dre beat fits but 5o kind of ruins it.3/58)If I Can't - a song that talks about his position now about being a entrepuetner and talking about all the money he is wearing. A typical Dr Beat. 3.5/59)Blood Hound feat. Young Buck - a song that features the newest member of G-Unit (back at the time) the song is fire in my opinion, this is one of my favorite songs just cuz 50's rhymes fit so well, Young Buck sounds pretty young and you can tell but he spits well here. 5/510)Back Down - a message to his arch rival "Ja Rule" I have no idea how the beef started but it doesn't matter, this is a whole song dissin' Ja and its a pretty good one especilly at the end which is hilarious. 4.5/511)P.I.M.P. - the song is completly overrated, it is a whole song about beinng a fake Pimp, and u know he ain't.....plus I like the Remix a whole lot better feat. Snoop and G-Unit, and average track. 3/512)Like My Style feat. Tony Yayo - I really really really hate Yayo, he is one of the weakest rappers I know, and he barely contributes to the song, the only thing he contributes annoyingness.2.5/513)Poor Lil' Rich - not one my favorites, I don't even get the point of it, but its still tolerable. 3/514)21 Questions feat. Nate Dogg - One of my favorites, Nate Dogg brings th right type of flavor to this song, and at least 50 really did ask 21 questions in this song. 5/515)Don't Push Me feat. Eminem & Lloyd Banks - a very strong track, with good productions from Em (for once), the chemsitry is great from all three. 5/516)Gotta Make It To Heaven - if they didn't add any bonus tracks this would've been a horrible way to end the album, the beat is horrible and the hook is worse than that. 2/517)Wanksta - 50's first true single, this song came out bakc in 2002 and really brought 50 in the mainstream of Hip Hop, the song is another diss to Ja Rule. 5/518)U Not Like Me - an average song period. 2.5/519)Life's On The Line - This was 50 when he was comin' up, and this track was created before 50 got shot in the mouth so his voice sounds very different. But the thing I like about the song is that the song shows how hungry 50 was which is very different to how 50 raps now.5/550 changed a lot over the years and not for the better, as far as money goes, 50 is in the top 5 of the richest rappers alive so hes doin well. But like a lot of people say "Money Changes People", so when The Massacre 50 dropped completly because he was focusing on his money too much and thats the reason why the album sucked so much. But still I'm with The Game, GGGGGGGGG G-UNOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
