1) I Love Guster, GREAT ALBUM [Rating: 5 out of 5]
If you want a lower price for Guster CDs, go to www.guster.com and go to their store. All the albums are $10.00 each and you can get all 5 of their albums for $40.00 in a combo pack. They also have lots of other Guster goodies on their online store!!As far as the album is concerned, it's very fun. Amsterdam is a great pop song that is catchy and lovable. Actually, most of the songs are great pop songs, and my personal favorites are Come Downstairs & Say Hello, Jesus on the Radio, Keep It Together, Amsterdam, and Careful.Gotta love the Gusters. Amen.2) My favorite Guster Album [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Having listened to all of Guster's albums, I have to say that I like this one the most. Lost and Gone Forever has a good mixture of fast and slow songs and is a pretty good CD to play in the background. Its only downside is that it is a relatively early album, so after having listened to Guster live this year, the album versions of What You Wish For, Barrel of a Gun and etc. sounds sort of amature compared to their style now.Ganging up on the Sun feels really unfinished as it starts with Lightning Rod which is very good but short, but then Satellite is only an okay song that I don't know why people like so much. The tone and mood totally changes though with the third song Manifest Destiny, and then it sort of jumps around and feels really inconsistent. I don't exactly like how the lyrics or just the songs were written. They have good tunes, but they could have been much better if they were worked on more.I don't know why but Goldfly just does not appeal to me. It sounds way too aggressive and not as happy or easy-listening as the usual Guster style. There is this other album but I've read bad reviews so I did not bother buying it.Which leaves us Keep It Together. I just love this CD. I can listen to it over and over, and the majority of the songs are really really good. Diane, Careful, Keep it Together, Come Downstairs and Say Hello are some of my top favorite Guster songs. The quality of songs is very consistent and I just love the mood and tone of this CD in general, it is very uplifting and easy to listen to.If you haven't heard Guster, definitely go with this album, either this or Lost and Gone Forever.3) The best Guster CD of them all (and that's saying something!) [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I bought "Keep it Together" at a Guster concert in May, which I visited in lieu of their also-amazing Ganging Up on the Sun. I had no idea that this album contained so much AWESOME... and throughout the WHOLE ALBUM! :OMy favorite songs:-Diane-Amsterdam-Careful-Amsterdam-Backyard-.....see where I'm going with this?If you could only own one album in your lifetime, and this was it, you would be extremely satisfied. You owe it to yourselves to own this album! And as an added treat, it seems that the more you listen to this album, the more you are rewarded with discovering layer after layer of synchronized music.4) Other Pop Artists Should Study This Album [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I bought this album the day it came out, way back when i was 16. This is the album that really got me into music. Every song on it is great. Not a weak one of the bunch. Guster is such an underrated band. These are beautiful, brilliant melodies that should be looked at as an example of how to write a pop album. Sometimes a band just makes an album where they do no wrong; this is Guster's finest album, and should not be overlooked by anyone who appreciates a well constructed melody.5) Excellent Album [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I've owned this album for over three years now, and just to clarify its greatness, it is still a great album to me. I have played it on road trips and times when I just want to really focus on music, and this album always delivers. You will not be dissappointed!
