1) The CD case was broken [Rating: 1 out of 5]
The CD is Ok, and it arrived in time. But unfortunately the package is too small and fragile, that the CD case was broken in one corner when it arrived. I wanted to give somebody else as a gift, but now I keep it for myself.2) Gorgeous [Rating: 5 out of 5]
If you're into funky music that is definitely not mainstream, you may dig this. They mix things like Pikachu saying his own name over clanging pots and pans and guitars, and the two sisters have an amazing combination of voices.Great lyrics, too.3) hmmm... [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I wanted to write an oozing review of this work. It strikes me from several angles. I've only got two comments in my mouth: 1.This seems to be an attempt at a reproduction of something akin to the duende of Edith Piaf and an operatic legacy and,2. I feel this album is meant to be heard at lower volumes. Higher volumes distort the sound quality a bit, though I'm wondering if this isn't done on purpose in an attempt to nod to older recordings. There's something really great about the imperfection of the recording (or at least the one that I own). It doesn't come off as gratuitous nor badly produced (the levels all seem to be well mixed), it's just there. A whimsical album.4) Amazing, simply the most complicated sound ever. [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I first heard these girls when they opened for Bright Eyes. I was dragged to the Bright Eyes show by a friend who had aspare ticket. I really was not looking forward to it... Until CoCo Rosie took the stage. 2 women, one with Keyboards, one with a collection of childrens noise makers and toys. Honestly the cake was taken by their "Percussion section" some black dude in a loud ugly Bill Cosby sweater and a Giagantic Native American Headress playing the human beat box. SPECTACULAR! Most original thing I have ever heard outside of Central park street performers. This Album is very cohesive, all the nuances of sound blend together to create a cacphony in your mind. If you only hear this album you WILL HATE IT. You must LISTEN to it!5) Very Poor [Rating: 1 out of 5]
Poor singers, annoying sound effects in what some people call songs. Their voices are just auful at times, like a sqeaky old granma. God I hate this album.
