No one will lament the passing of the boy band phenomenon; now the American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken has released his first album. He's picked up right where 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys left off, not only borrowing Andreas Carlsson, the Swedish songsmith who penned some of their biggest hits (also using the services of other well-known popmeisters like Desmond Child and Cathy Dennis), but turning out the same type of impeccable over-produced and seamless creations that the Orlando pop mafia rode up the charts at the dawn of the millennium. Several years into the new millennium it seems like there's still quite a bit of life left in that zeitgeist, since Aiken's Measure of a Man debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Well crafted and well sung, but at times lacking discernable personality or endearing idiosyncrasies, many of Aiken's tunes sound the same, whether he's lamenting the lack of love in his life ("Invisible"), reveling in it ("Perfect Day"), or supporting his fellow man ("I Will Carry You"). As a made-for-TV pop star, it'll be interesting to see how Measure of a Man measures up in the years to come. --Jaan Uhelszki

1) Finally, a singer who actually SINGS   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Thank you, Clay Aiken, for a refreshing change to today's not-so-popular pop music. Not only is Mr. Aiken's voice relaxed, soothing, and versatile, he actually SINGS; he doesn't, for lack of a better term, "Mariah Carey" the notes all over the place. For this he should be commended - and emulated by future artists. Keep up the excellent work, Mr. Aiken!

2) I wanna Clay to win   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I wanted Clay Aikens to win American Idol !!!This is Clay's first album, and it's wonderful of course.

3) I have heard all this before   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
Ever buy a cd and say this sounds familiar? Yep, this is one of them. Save your money for something new.

4) Don't Understand Why It Was Not Played On The Radio   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
First, let me start by saying I am not part of the ClayTrain, ClayNation, ClayMates, ect. just someone that loves music. This is a great CD for it to be Clay's first. I don't understand why radio stations will not give Clay air time. He is just as good or better than all the other American Idols that are being played. He's way better than Taylor Hicks! But for some reason it seems none of the radio stations want to give him a chance. From my understanding Clay's concerts are always sold out . . . yet you never here Clay played on the radio. Is it bad management? I would think that is a BIG part of it.Anyway good luck young man!

5) FANTASTIC!!!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I love this cd. Clay Aiken is wonderfully talented and has an awesome voice. I highly recommend this-all the songs are great!!!
