1) Great CD [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I had seen this CD in Target on many occasions and had been tempted to buy it more than once. With a name like The All-American Rejects, I figured there's got to be something interesting there. I didn't buy it, though, for a long time since I wasn't familiar with the band or any of their songs (no I haven't heard "Swing Swing") and was afraid it'd be a waste of money. While sitting at the dentist office waiting for my daughter the other day, I saw about a 30 second clip of the band in the bonus material on the "Meet the Robinsons" DVD. I liked what I heard so I decided the buy the CD that night. Man am I glad I did. I discovered that I had in fact heard some of the songs on the radio but just didn't know it was AAR. This CD has instantly become my favorite. The lyrics are upbeat and positive and the tunes are catchy. Howard Benson shows why he's a master in the music biz as this CD is one of the best produced discs I've heard. I highly recommend this CD.2) too much of the same [Rating: 3 out of 5]
This album has some catchy tunes for sure. But the problem is that most of the songs start to meld and sound the same. I understand that each group strives to attain a particular unique sound. But there's nothing new under the sun, everything is just being reinvented. The title track "Move Along" has been so over-played on the radio that anyone would be ready to tune it out after the 200th time it seems you're hearing it. "It Ends Tonight" just comes across as whining and not a great song. After listening to this album, I can't say any particular track especially stands out. To me that would not seem to be a good thing. I think AAR needs to diversify their sound a bit. The lyrics aren't terrible, but nothing spectacular either. I would say this album is just ok. Overall score: 6.7 out of 10.3) Excellent Rock Album [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I am not usually a fan of this genre of rock, but boy am I a fan of this album! Every song has a catchy tune and even catchier (sometimes tongue-in-cheek) lyrics. This is one of those albums that you want to pop into your car, put the top down, and cruise along while singing along at the top of your voice. Exhilaratingly enjoyable music!4) amazing! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
There were few albums that I liked instantly. But "Move Along" is just awesome! If you don't have it yet, get their first album The All-American Rejects, too! It's just as good!5) ALOT OF CRYING [Rating: 1 out of 5]
I WAS DISAPOINTED IN THIS ALBUM. ESPECIALLY FROM A GOOD BAND SUCH AS THIS. I REALLY ONLY FOUND TWO SONGS ON THE WHOLE CD THAT WERE WORTH PUTTING ON TO MY I-POD "IT ENDS TONIGHT" AND "MOVE ALONG". AS FOR THE OTHER SONGS I THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY "CRY BABY". THEY ALL SOUNDED PRETTY MUCH THE SAME AS FOR BEING MAD AT SOME GIRL FOR EITHER DUMPING THEM OR CHEATING ON THEM. SO I WAS DISSAPOINTED TO HEAR ALL THESE WHINNY SONGS.
