So how does Chris Tomlin follow up his 2006 Artist and Male Vocalist of the Year Dove Awards? Easy... he goes out and releases his best work to date with See the Morning, a superb collection of worship-flavored tracks that demonstrate Tomlin continues refining his art. As with the previous Arriving, producer Ed Cash is firmly at the helm and masterfully blending Tomlin's smooth vocals and his band's chiming guitars and rock-steady rhythm. The extensive road work that Tomlin and his band have done certainly shows in how tight See the Morning sounds. In fact, tracks like "Glorious" and "Awesome Is the Lord Most High" may even lose a little luster compared with how they sound live on Passion: Everything Glorious. No matter, as this release is much more about songwriting than it is about energy. For Tomlin, verse and chorus have never flowed smoother and sweeter than on "Glory in the Highest" and "How Can I Keep from Singing?" and first single "Made to Worship." Tomlin also offers a nice cover of Brenton Brown's "Everlasting God," slightly slower than Lincoln Brewster's fiery version on Let the Praises Ring but equally rewarding. Further highlights include the atmospheric "Uncreated One" and a new and pleasing twist on the classic "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)." Start to finish, See the Morning is Tomlin's most complete release and a strong argument for calling him one of this generation's finest songwriters in the modern church. --Michael Lyttle

Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5

1) Awesome worship music!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Very encouraging and easy to sing along with - I very much enjoy most of the songs!

2) SO GOOD!   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
In a word: FANTASTIC!This wasn't a CD that had to "grow on me"... I loved it immediately. This CD has comforted and uplifted my soul on so many occasions....

3) Stuck in my head.   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
All of his music gets stuck in my head. It is a really nice mix of songs; all of them flow beautifully. I was walking off the subway, listening to number 5 "Glory in the Highest" - I got chills because of the way it builds from simplicity to chorus. That said, I'm probably done buying his music. It is all so similar that I feel like I have a bunch of the same CDs. Also, he is really repetitive with his lyrics - I know they're all about God, but he uses the same words to describe Him in every instance. There are many more descriptors than glory, grace, amazing, and awesome. If you don't have one of his albums, get this one. If you do have one, you can probably do without this one - personal opinion.

4) AWESOME MUSIC   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I ordered this CD of Casting Crowns for my brother, who is a new christian. He loves it. He said it has given him encouragement and a new prespective. The songs are awesome and he can't wait to get in his truck and listen to the music at the end of a long day.

5) Very uplifting   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is my first album by Chris Tomlin and I love it. I was introduced to him from his Amazing grace (my chains are gone) track and was immediately hooked. Usually, I end up enjoying less than half the tracks on any given CD but this one was overall good enough for me to like most of the tracks save one or two. Besides Amazing Grace, my top picks from this album would be in no particular order: How Can I Keep From Singing, Glory in the highest, Let your mercy rain and Made to worship.
