As a precocious 14-year-old, Stacie Orrico made her music biz debut with Genuine, a remarkably soulful release that went gold without much fanfare other than that generated by a limited supporting role on tour with Destiny's Child. Now all of 16, Orrico shows more youthful moxy in a self-titled collection of upbeat pop and more R&B-influenced tracks. Her expressive vocals continue to belie the fact that she's merely a teenager, as she draws inspiration from idols ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Lauryn Hill. Orrico also co-wrote eight of her release's 12 tracks, including hit single "Stuck," an ode to school-age love. Certainly Orrico leans heavy on the talents of producers Tedd T, Dallas Austin, and the Underdogs, who combine to give the exuberant youngster a silky-smooth sound. But for critics who would label Orrico as another propped-up teen artist, check out her starkly revealing ballad "Strong Enough," which shows us a young girl on the edge seeking wholeness in her spirituality. That genuineness, combined with a wealth of vocal talent, makes Stacie Orrico someone to watch. Michael Lyttle

1) Once again!   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I have been a stacie orrico fan since her debut album "Genuwine" so I felt like I've watched her grow and her voice has definitely matured (although it was great before.)Stacie has R&B influences and her voice is very soulful so the pop tracks dont do her voice justice to me.So really the singles shoudlnt have been singles in my opinion. I think her singles should've been these songs "Bounce back" "Maybe I wont look back", What Love's About", "Security" and "Strong Enough." With songs like "Instead" she brings back the rock vibe. "Hestitation" has sort of a techno dance vibe. THe others are very brittney spears pop "Stuck", "Promise" "More To life." However the remixes of those song bring the r&b vibe back. This album is great though, But I also recommend you getting her debut (which is my fav album of all time) and her Christmas album. Props to stacie!!

2) Power Player-   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I have listened to the song "More To Life" on the radio for a couple years and thought it a terrific song - after finally buying the CD, I found the whole thing to be really terrific, especially the first "half" of the song list (the songs tend to sound a little alike after you've listened for a while). "Stuck" is one that I play over and over - Here's the rub; I only heard the song "More To Life" on Christian radio, so I was surprised to learn that the CD is not all Christian tunes - not a huge problem for me, but I was expecting something a little different - so if you're expecting all Christian tunes on this album, you won't get it - still, a great effort by a terrific young talent -

4) The Best Pop Album   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
a got this CD whe it first came out, when me and my friends where in our "loven' pop music" stage. I just recently took this Cd back out, due to some strange need to use my old CD player and listen to the CD's i got when i was 9.(i'm 12) i went though it, I had then realized how great this album is.It is not your Typical bubblegum Mainstream pop, it has a cool R&B/Pop flavor to it, plus, most of the songs a have a wounderful Chistain Massage.1.Stuck 8/10- Very catchy but i got tired of this song very Quickly. it is, though a good enough song not to skip over.2.(There's Gotta Be) More to life 9.99/10- a great message, very catchy, and all aroung very appealing song. took the .1 off because people tend to play it over and over and over.3.Bounce Back 9/10- It sorta bores me sometimes, but it is a good song, it can really catch you.4.I Promise 6/10- nice slow song, but it really bores me. it is calming, though.5.Security 10/10- I love this song!!The Lyrocs are amazing this song is very inspireing.6.Instead 100/10- This is mt favrite song on the album! i love it , it has such a good beat and a great massage! This is a really great song!!7.Hesitation 10/10- one of those songs that makes you feel good to be alive. very refreshing.8.Strong Enough 9/10- a good song, but not my favroite.9.I Could Be the one 10/10- upbeat and fun, very addicting. it is almost impossible not to like, even for the Pop-haters.10.Maybe I Won't look Back 10/10- i really like this song very easy to realate to.11.Tight 10/10- very fun and ubeat dance song.12.That's what Love's about 8/10- A Nice song.

5) Pretty decent stuff   [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Christian-bred Stacie Orrico leaps into her first secular album (and second overall) of the same name confidently, if not a bit on the generic side. Sleeper hit "Stuck" became one of 03's bigger singles and deservedly so. SO is R&B-tinged pop so to non-pop music fans it sounds pretty much like everything else on Top 40 radio--but that's a bit harsh of a judgement to make. Though it's been overproduced like most of its kind at the time Stacie's fluid and agile singing skills put her album in the same category of Christina more than Britney (despite possessing a similar schoolgirl pout). Second single (and a better listen than "Stuck") "More to Life" became a bigger hit in 03 and its Christian-tinged message sounded true amidst the pop musings of a sexually-charged Britney Spears. Promise of more potential hits are harder to find after those first two instant hits, though "Hesitation" comes pretty close. It's not a perfect listen--but moments like "Stuck," "More to Life," "Hestiation" and piano ballad "Strong" keep it fresh.
