Customer Reviews (supplied by Amazon.com):
Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5
1) One of the best metal albums ever! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This album is amazing. I have listened to it over and over at least 25 times since I got it. I have a friend who has never seen Metalocalypse but is into heavy music like Slayer... I let him borrow the cd and he loved it. Not really much to review... if you love Metalocalypse then you will love this album.2) Brutally Awesome!!! but missing a couple songs [Rating: 4 out of 5]
Brendon Small has created an brutal, dark, murderous, fist in your face, speaker blowing, ear bleeding, (did I say brutal) metal CD!!! I must say however, I was a bit disappointed that "Sewn back together wrong" and "Crush my battle opponent's balls" were not on here. That said, the CD is still well worth having. If you can, I'd recomend waiting for Amazon to get a new shipment from Williams Street otherwise, if you just gotta have it, you'll have to pay a premium to the vendors that sell through Amazon.3) Dethklok Dethalbum [Rating: 5 out of 5]
The show is great and listening to the whole songs makes me happy when i'm feeling blooo. I would do anything for Dethklok!4) Dethalbum brings Metal over the Millenium divide [Rating: 4 out of 5]
With Dethalbum and the dark comedy of the Metalocalypse television show, Dethklok (and Brandon Small) finally manage to bridge 'real' metal into the new Millenium. Combining the low-E, high energy, "Cowboys From Hell" crunch of Metallica and Pantera, with the topical lyrical stylings of Megadeth yields a unique, much appreciated, "real" return of Heavy Metal to the masses. God I appreciate getting to hear Murmaider, Go Forth and Die, Thunderhorse and Fansong. They really take me back to when Metal was Metal. And just like Metallica, you hear the melody and the song takes meaning for you, then you read the lyrics (because you sure can't understand them by simply listening) and your entire impression of what a song is trying to say to you changes.. a-la Master of Puppets and Fade to Black. If you like good old 80s Heavy Metal, but would like to see it brought forward, 'punched up' and made a bit more relevant, take a look at Dethalbum. I consider it money well spent.5) Great Metal Album from a Great Show [Rating: 5 out of 5]
The Deluxe Edition of this album is the one to have. It includes the Video for Bloodrocuted and Episode one of season two. The Deluxe Edition is hard to come by new, only a handful of large retailers still have a copy, but some smaller independant stores may have it, so look into that. The extra CD is worth it for the video and for the extra 7 tracks. This album is based on the Adult Swim, Brandon Small Written Metalocalypse series, which all of these songs have been featured on. Brandon Small plays all instruments except drums and does the lead vocals, an impressive accomplishment because this album is put together better than most metal/deathmetal albums with larger budgets, "known" produces, and big named bands. Overall, highlights for me are Awaken, Briefcase full of Girls, and Birthday Deathday. It is hard to believe that this tounge and cheek mockary/tribute of metal bands that is so visually gorey (not for small kids) is so good. I highly recommend this album to all fans of things that are brutal and metal.
