Editorial Reviews (supplied by Amazon.com):

1) Amazon.com
Former George Clinton and Maxwell sideman Amp Fiddler walks his own middle ground on Waltz of a Ghetto Fly. Neither as all-out funkadelic as Clinton or as straight-ahead romantic as Maxwell, Fiddler offers a keyboard-heavy blend of styles that's both airy and rooted in a deep groove. Overdubbing harmonies, he presses his rangy voice to its expressive limits. "Superficial" begins with a rhythm pattern that sounds like Blondie's "Heart of Glass" turned inside out before bursting into a Latin-dance extravaganza. Other tracks benefit from jazz touches, such as the elegant piano solo that highlights "Possibilities." Fiddler's songs are often little more than vamps, but it's this brand of musicality that lights them up. --Rickey Wright

Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5

1) buyer beware, this cd doesn't come close to the work of the artist   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
mentioned in the reviews here, it's boring.

2) What the heck was I thinking?   [Rating: 1 out of 5]
This cd is horrible! I thought I heard one of his songs that I liked, but after hearing it, I knew I was wrong. The whole cd is garbage. Don't waste your money.

3) Neo-Soul Revolution.   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
This is one the best R & B soul albums of the millenium in my opinion. Every song is sophisticated & smart yet simple & smooth. I've heard the instrumental from 'Waltz of a Ghetto Fly' before. It's the hidden end track on Q-Tip's solo album 'Amplified'. Oh...and, speaking of hidden songs the one after 'Waltz' is splendid. Don't forget to fast foward or you'll be missing out.

4) soooo smooth n sexy   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I struggle to fathom how one album can exude so much sexiness, but 'Waltz of a Ghetto Fly' managfes it.Amp Fiddler's voice is smoother then Teflon, and this album doesn't dissapoint. Some stand out tracks include: 'I believe in you','superficial' and 'dreamin'.If you ever get the opportunity to see the man live, your in for one hell of a suprise.

5) Amplify Your Ears   [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I heard this brotha on internet radio. I purchased his CD and to me it is off the hook. Like everyone else who heard it and liked it, Dreaming is a great song. The entire CD is hot. He is one brotha that sold me on the first go round. When he drops a new one, I won't hesistate to buy it. I rock this CD in my Jeep and the bass on Dreaming is kicking....I love this brotha...can't wait to see him in person... Nothing like AMP to get you going in the day... Verjaunne - Baltimore, MD
